How Do I Prepare For A Dental Visit?
You do not want to feel rushed when you plan to visit the dentist. Make sure to take time off work or school purposely for the dental appointment. You should also let the dental practice know if you have dental insurance. If not, ask if the office has a membership plan that you can join. Plan to get to the dental office early so there is adequate time to fill out all necessary paperwork.
What Does The Dentist Do During The First Visit?
Patients can usually expect a full oral exam that covers the teeth, gums, bite, jaws and esthetics. There may be a cleaning if necessary, depending on the condition of your teeth and gums. The dentist or hygienist should provide education on how to care for your teeth and gums.
How Long Is A Dental Visit?
There is no definite answer to this question as it will depend on the type of dental treatment. For dental examinations, the average session will last about 60 minutes. It could take longer if the patient has many or complicated dental problems.
